On October 14th, 2024, our COO and Senior Trauma Consultant, Dr. Amy Alexander, PhD, kicked off a transformative faculty & staff workshop at Midland Innovation + Technology Charter School (MITCS) in Midland, PA.
Dr Alexander did a workshop for the MER team on trauma in Kansas City, Missouri on June 4 and 5.
The session explores the intersectional constructs of race and athlete identity, via the lens of trauma within the sport community. We examine how the systemic nature of racial identity impacts experiences & the recovery process of student athletes.

The African American Alumni Council and TAP Expert Educational Consortium sponsored the first series workshop on Trauma/ Mental health at the University of Pittsburgh on January 25. Carla Adams and Dr Amy Alexander were the presenters and did a phenomenal job. Details about the second workshop will be forthcoming.
